A Long-Term Commitment to Craftsmanship in Llangynidr

Over the past couple of years, Paul has been gradually restoring and replacing the sash windows and doors of a listed building in Llangynidr. Rather than approaching the project as a single phase, the work has been carried out carefully over time, allowing each element to be designed, made and installed with the attention a historic property deserves.

Every sash window and door has been crafted to respect the character of the building, maintaining traditional proportions and detailing while improving performance and longevity. This steady, considered approach reflects a wider philosophy shared across both Heritage Sash Wales and PV Joinery: doing the job properly, without compromise.

This week, attention turned to a more modern building on the same plot. While the architecture differs, the standard of craftsmanship remains the same. The latest phase saw the installation of a set of large, handmade oak garage doors alongside bespoke oak windows, all created specifically for a newly built workshop.

To complete the work, the oak joinery was finished with an Anker Stuy coating, providing long-lasting protection while allowing the natural character of the timber to remain visible. The result is a clean, robust finish that complements the building and ensures durability for years to come.

Paul’s passion for delivering exceptional customer service has always been at the heart of the business. That commitment, combined with master craftsmanship and clear communication, has become the foundation on which both Heritage Sash Wales and PV Joinery have grown. It’s also why so many clients return time and again, trusting their properties to be treated with care, respect and skill.

This project in Llangynidr is a perfect example of how traditional craftsmanship and modern joinery can sit comfortably side by side, each approached with the same level of pride and attention to detail.

A newly constructed timber-clad outbuilding featuring horizontal wooden cladding and a pitched metal roof. The large window on the right is partially covered with protective plastic sheeting, indicating recent installation work. On the left, a dark-painted double door is open, revealing a partially lit interior space. The exterior is clean and freshly built, sitting on a concrete base with paving leading to the entrance. The bright blue sky and light cloud cover create a sharp contrast against the natural wood tones and industrial black door, reflecting the structure's blend of rustic appearance with modern functionality.

A newly fitted window is centrally positioned, still covered in protective plastic wrap, suggesting the window is recently installed or awaiting final treatment. Below the window is a small external power outlet, mounted neatly on the wood cladding. The rich, golden tones of the timber are freshly treated and cleanly finished. The image is taken from a slight angle, capturing a glimpse of the surrounding landscape and blue sky, reinforcing the sense of new, high-quality craftsmanship in a rural or semi-rural setting.
Front elevation of a timber-clad outbuilding, completed and professionally finished. The structure features warm-toned horizontal wood cladding, a grey metal corrugated roof, and a large triple-pane window with a dark blue frame, now fully revealed and unwrapped. A pair of wide, dark blue-painted timber doors occupy the left side of the structure, secured with a central locking handle. The clean concrete apron and level surroundings reflect the building's new condition. This functional and aesthetic outbuilding offers a high standard of joinery work, ideal for a workspace, studio, or secure storage.
Interior view of the newly built outbuilding, showing a concrete block wall with a wide, narrow horizontal window installed. The window is framed in dark blue and positioned to maximise natural light while maintaining privacy. Exposed electrical conduit and double socket outlets are professionally mounted along the wall, indicating the space is wired and ready for practical use. The ceiling is lined with light plywood panels, complemented by clean, linear LED strip lighting. This space is ideal for use as a workshop, office, or creative studio, blending utility with high-quality internal finishes.

The dark blue-framed window offers a clear view of a garden area with a greenhouse and surrounding foliage. The ceiling is finished with light plywood and fitted with long LED light strips for ample illumination. Electrical conduit and sockets are visible, confirming the space is functional and well-equipped. The overall finish suggests a high standard of craftsmanship suited to professional, hobbyist, or domestic workspace purposes, with durability and light being key design elements.
Internal view of the double timber doors, painted in matte dark blue, matching the building’s external window frames. The doors feature diagonal bracing in a barn-style design and are secured with high-quality latches and a central lock. Surrounding the door frame is a well-finished lintel and clean concrete blockwork. Electrical cabling, a fuse board, and conduit are professionally installed to the left, highlighting the building’s readiness for powered use. Leaning against the adjacent wall are various materials, neatly stored, hinting at ongoing or recent construction or fitting work.
